Share Your Ham Radio Story!
We are looking for anything ham radio related: recent activations, station upgrades, antenna projects, contest results, technical tips, event recaps, memorable contacts, photos, or even a lesson learned the hard way. You do not have to be a professional writer. Just send us the details, and we can help clean it up and get it ready for publication.
Help Us Build the Next Technician License Training Team
GSARA is building something exciting, and we need your help. We are putting together a team of volunteers to help shape, test, and support our upcoming Technician License Training program. This is a chance to help future hams take their first real step into amateur radio through a 3-day online Zoom course and an 8-week hybrid training option. If you enjoy teaching, encouraging new operators, answering questions, or helping others discover the hobby, we would love to have you on the team. Read the full blog post to learn how you can get involved and help GSARA build a stronger path for the next generation of licensed amateur radio operators.
GSARA Members Support Local Road Race Communications with ARES Team
The weather was beautiful, the communications team was well organized, and the people involved with the race genuinely appreciated the support from the amateur radio operators. There were even free snacks involved, which, as any experienced ham knows, dramatically improves operational readiness.
Spring NEAR-Fest Recap: Soggy Boots, Strong Signals, and Plenty of Eyeball QSOs
Saturday may have brought rain, but it definitely did not wash out the fun. Everyone stayed in good spirits, and the soggy weather almost became part of the adventure. Ham radio people are a special breed anyway. Give us a radio, a canopy, a warm drink, and a questionable weather forecast, and somehow we still call it a great day. The rain came down, but the conversations kept going, the exploring continued, and the weekend still felt packed with activity and energy.
