Granite State Amateur Radio

Association

Code of Conduct

1- Purpose and Scope

The purpose of the Granite State Amateur Radio Association (GSARA) Code of Conduct is to provide members with guidance regarding acceptable personal conduct at all GSARA-sanctioned events, social gatherings, and any other event where members congregate to promote the amateur radio hobby and related technologies.

GSARA members and applicants are expected to behave with fellow members, other amateur radio operators, volunteers, and the community at large in a polite, courteous, and respectful manner, without using language that could be considered profane or otherwise disruptive or derogatory. This includes communications that are in-person, social media, via R,F or any other electronic means. Public personal attacks directed at other club members are inappropriate and prohibited. Respect race, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, culture, and custom. Following in the spirit of the DX Code of Conduct as adopted by the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU), debate respectfully and be prepared to listen to other perspectives in all forms of communications.

All members agree to abide by this GSARA Code of Conduct as a condition of membership.

2 - Oversight and Reporting

When anyone observes an individual or group of members in potential violation of the Code of Conduct, such conduct should be reported to the Board of Directors, which will investigate the incident to determine if remedial action is warranted.

3 - Enforcement

If the Board of Directors concludes that the Code of Conduct has been violated, the offending individual(s) will be informed of the observed infraction(s) and asked to immediately discontinue the behavior deemed inappropriate. Where an individual repeatedly and willfully violates the Code of Conduct, or where the Board of Directors deems the inappropriate action to be egregious, the Board of Directors may take further action, up to and including immediate dismissal and/or exclusion from the GSARA with a majority vote from the Executive Board.
