Fox Hunting (Radio Direction Finding)

Two children and an adult man fly kites at an outdoor event, with two women in the background and parked cars.

Radio direction finding (RDF), also known as "fox hunting," is a hobby where participants locate hidden radio transmitters using directional antennas and measuring signal strength. It's a fun and challenging activity that combines radio operation with navigation skills. The goal is to find the "fox," a low-power transmitter hidden within a designated area.

As a club, we actively schedule multiple transmitter hunts during the summer and fall months. We announce the "fox" is loose on this page for a week, and we encourage everyone to showcase their skills in locating it.
