New Antenna, Strong Results: GSARA Repeater Gets an Upgrade
The new antenna was secured to the mast using high-quality mounting hardware. The N-type coax connection was also carefully weatherproofed using a three-layer method: electrical tape first, sealing tape second, and another layer of electrical tape on the outside. This provides strong protection from the elements while still allowing the connection to be removed more easily during future maintenance.
A Saturday at the Tower
The crew arrived with tools and good humor. Safety and teamwork were the order of the day, and the swap happened smoothly. After the install, they fired up the repeater and saw better reach and clearer signals in the problem areas.
