Community Outreach:

LDS Youth Group in Peterborough, NH

The Granite State Amateur Radio Association embarked on an exciting mission to introduce amateur radio to a local youth group in the charming town of Peterborough, NH. The event turned out to be a fantastic success, fostering both curiosity and connection among participants. Several enthusiastic parents and youths stepped up to the microphone, eagerly making contact with local ham radio operators, each call igniting a sense of community and camaraderie.

In addition to making live connections, we showcased the thrill of POTA (Parks on the Air) and SOTA (Summits on the Air), immersing the teens in the adventures of portable operating in beautiful outdoor settings. To make the experience even more engaging, we taught them how to spell their names in Morse code, transforming a simple learning moment into a fun and memorable activity. Everyone left with a greater appreciation for the art of amateur radio and the connections it fosters.
