I love the outdoors and I’m very interested in Parks on the Air. I just recently learned about Summits on the Air! I’ve acquired a 10-meter transceiver and have made quite a few contacts, both stateside and DX, all within 28.3 and 28.5 MHz. I’m currently studying for my general exam that’s coming up this January. As for modes, I’m very happy with phone SSB.
Pete learned about GSARA after meeting Barry Whittemore N1FO at work and Billy Wagner WB1ADF (SK) who lived down the street from him in Manchester. Barry let Pete borrow a wire dipole and an Icom radio and strung it up in his backyard and kitchen where the radio speaker and calling Pete's old callsign KB1THU quickly rose to the top most hated electronic device by Pete's wife Yvonne.
