How long have you been a Ham?

I have been a Ham since October 2008 and upgraded to General in 2019.

What mode(s) within Amateur Radio do you enjoy operating?

I enjoy participating in activities such as field days and want to get more involved in portable and POTA operations by assembling a go-box. I am preparing for the Extra exam and hope to be ready by autumn.

Describe your involvement with GSARA.

I joined GSARA when covid was coming to an end. I had been joining in on the nightly net that had started. When I got to meet other members at a breakfast, it was like I new them for years. This has become a weekly thing for me, I look forward to going every week.

What is one piece of advice you would give a new Ham?

When you get your ticket, don't let it sit in a drawer. Join a club or two or three. There is so much fun to have. Many hams to meet. Get involved.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

Join a club and have fun.
