ABOUT US

HISTORY

In the early 1970s, twelve local Amateur Radio operators founded Granite State Amateur Radio Association. For over 52 years, GSARA has participated in activities such as Field Day, NHQSO Party, ARES/RACES Events, and VE Exam Sessions. Our club holds monthly meetings and other club activities to foster connections and support our communities.

CLUB MISSION

Our mission is to advance the principles, interests, enjoyment, and sound operating practices associated with the Amateur Radio Service.
We are an Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) affiliated club since 1974 and an ARRL Special Service Club. We participate in Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) and RACES training events.

When Everything Else Fails, Amateur Radio often times is our last line of defense...When you need amateur radio, you really need them.
— The Hon. W. Craig Fugate Administrator, US Department of Homeland Security, FEMA

Our Meetings

Our monthly meetings take place on the second Friday of every month at Bedford High School in Bedford, NH. Additionally, we offer a Zoom option for those who cannot attend in person. Our meetings feature a diverse range of speakers who deliver informative presentations on Amateur Radio. We highly recommend attending one of our meetings as it provides an excellent opportunity to get to know everyone and gain a deeper understanding of GSARA.

Repeater/Nets

Our 2-meter Club Repeater can be found on 146.685 MHz (-600) with a PL 100.0. Our Repeater provides Analog and Digital modes, although we are not connected to the internet/Fusion. Consider joining, as there is always someone on to say hello!

Nightly Nets

We run a nightly rag chew net at 7 pm, and all are welcome to check in. This net runs for about 30 minutes and is a great way to connect, introduce yourself, and meet other Amateur Radio Operators.

Monthly 10 Meter Net

On the second Monday of every month, we run a 10-meter Net at 7:30 p.m. The net is on 28.485 MHz USB (+/- a few kHz if interference exists). It is in the technician part of the band; all licensed hams are welcome to check-in.

Net control is located in Merrimack, NH, for those with beams, if you wish to point your beam in that general direction.
